I looked to many companies to make a rifle that did not look like everyone else’s. I put this upper on a self milled polymer lower and a SASS heavy barrel. Functions great. I put a Ares Armory BCG in it and it fits and fires great. If you want to build a gun not like all the rest, built it around this upper. Great job Gibbz.

This upper is phenomenal! The construction is robust and the tolerances are tight. I was impressed with the hard anodizing which seemed tough and scratch resistant. I with Gibbz manufactured a lower to couple with this upper as the Aero Precision DPMS format lower did not mate as tightly as I would have liked to the Gibbz upper. Excited to do another build with one of these! Any possibility of a forward assist and dust cover model as well?

Yet to shoot it….so my review might be squed. If it functions as well as it looks and mates with my parts i will be totally impressed. It feels nice, i mean the pull on the charging handle is tight and smooth. It mated almost flawlessly with all the parts that it touches. I agree in the thoughts of needing a forward assist and dust cover for the chamber. Overall no complaints yet..

Just returned from shooting my new rifle, built on Gibbz Arms G10 upper. The fit on my DPMS lower is better then factory. Operation is flawless, and smooth. This is a hunting rifle so didn’t care about dust cover or forward assist. Used a Lancer hand guard, because Gibbz doesn’t have them for G10. I’ll be the first to buy one when they do.

To the next person looking to purchase this upper receiver, please read: I can’t believe I read all 4 reviews and I think every single one is asking for a dust cover and forward assist and used this as a standard rear charging upper on an AR-10, THIS IS A SIDE-CHARGING UPPER RECEIVER!!!! It’s not supposed to have a flipping dust cover OR a forward assist because it charges on the side!! Man I’m all about feeedom, and gave 15 yrs of service to our country to support and defend the constitution, but damn can’t people read?? (Sorry I had to comment). Next guy, this is probably a very well made upper, but read the flipping description. It is a SIDE-CHARGING upper receiver.

I bought this receiver 2 years ago, to build a high-end 308 rifle. After 6 months of assembling and purchasing parts, i cheeped out planing to use an Aero Precision lower receiver for my build. Once I assembled the rifle it just didn't meet my expectations. I didn't like the appearance of the fit and finish. The anodizing along with the lower lines did not make me feel like i had built a high end rifle. Two month later I purchased a Gibbz lower and dedicated the other receiver to a new 6.5 Creedmoor build. I'm so happy that I made the change. Whenever i look at that rifle it brings a smile to my face. Now it looks as great as it shoots. At the range shooting 200 yard groups with a couple gentlemen i didn't know. They were amazed at my receivers and the lack of dust cover. One remarking that he was going to buy a set of receivers too.He was impressed that I had my rifle set up as a single shot to hunt in PA. Its ease of use not having to take my eye out of the box to make a follow up shot is spot on. If you are thinking of buying this do it.
